Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a Physics Application Developer Intern to join its Algorithms R&D department. The Numerical Computation team would like to expand Wolfram Language’s partial differential equation (PDE) modeling capabilities. The challenge is to develop PDE models that are useful for physicists. The intern will be helping to derive, develop, explore and test models using the application of the Schrödinger equation, quantum mechanical effects and solid-state physics. They will assist in adding a finished application example to our PDE model collection.

Requirements

  • Understanding of partial differential equations
  • Strong physics background
  • Solid knowledge of programming in Wolfram Language
  • Understanding of the finite element method is preferred
  • Master’s degree is required; PhD is preferred
