Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated Account Executive to join the Academic Sales team. Do you love to teach or present? The chosen candidate will join a successful sales organization and inherit a territory with a longstanding customer base to grow as well as an unlimited number of new opportunities to foster. The most successful people in this role have a passion for technology or have a background in a computational field and enjoy communicating with faculty and academic administration on implementing our technology and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and growing sales within the territory by:
    • Outbounding to academic institutions without existing agreements to sell site licenses at these organizations
    • Serving as the primary contract negotiation point of contact to expand the size and magnitude of existing customer contracts
    • Negotiating contracts and acting as the liaison with customers, customer legal teams and Wolfram’s legal team
    • Responding to customer leads and inquiries (both organization and individual)
    • Selling individual licenses, services and renewals to drive revenue
    • Maintaining the SugarCRM pipeline of opportunities and close sales as well as accurately providing forecasting information to sales management of expected sales
    • Presenting Wolfram technology both online and in person to academic institutions and individuals to help illustrate why our tech fits their needs
    • Serving as the primary liaison at Wolfram for all inquiries by faculty/staff at the organizations within their territories and ensuring top-quality relationships with timely and quality responses
    • Working with faculty/teachers to incorporate Wolfram technology into their courses and projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to network
  • Analytical and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Money and success oriented
  • Aptitude to learn the software needed to complete daily tasks
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Preferred qualifications

  • A degree in communication, creative writing or a quantitative field
  • Experience within academia and/or direct sales

Job Type: Full time (40 hours per week)/Permanent
Reporting to: Academic Sales Manager
Salary (for eligible candidates residing in the United States): For candidates based in the United States, the base salary for this position is expected to be up to $35,000 per year with expected on-target earnings (OTE) of $75,000–$80,000 (including bonuses and commissions). Your exact offer and OTE may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
