, ,Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is looking for an experienced Director of Finance to direct and oversee the financial activities of the company, provide current financial reports and summaries and create forecasts. The successful candidate will be a reliable professional with broad knowledge of all accounting, financial and business principles. This position requires an honest, smart, strategic thinker and effective leader who can use good judgment and assist the company in making the most profitable decisions.
This position will offer a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of three days onsite required per week. Additionally, a clear employment verification, background check, credit check and education verification will be required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining full integrity of all revenues, ensuring organization policies and procedures as well as state, federal and international (as applicable) laws and regulations are followed
- Overseeing and supporting the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity, striving to improve processes
- Monitoring cash flow and financial transactions
- Directing the preparation of financial statements, tax returns and governmental agency reports, assisting where necessary
- Ensuring the accurate setup of the company’s finance IT systems
- Working with the database team to provide relevant and accurate management reports
- Overseeing all external audit, internal control operations and tax compliance, assisting where necessary
- Preparing timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis, and to the CEO and/or Executive Committee as requested
- Conducting analysis for use in creating forecasts and providing guidance in the financial decisions of the company
- Maintaining corporate banking relationships on behalf of the company
- Managing the corporate insurance program
Qualifications
- Eight to 10 years of experience in accounting/financial management
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Solid knowledge of accounting software, corporate principles and financial analysis
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and financial management software
- Analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational, leadership, problem-solving and finance project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling the conveyance of financial information in sound, understandable business language
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or a related field; CPA/CMA preferred
- International exposure/experience
- Previous experience in public accounting is a plus
Location: On-site in Champaign, Illinois, USA; a hybrid work schedule is available after an initial on-site training period

Salary (for eligible candidates residing in the United States): For candidates based in the United States, the salary for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $150,000 per year.
